Living in Scott Depot, WV keeps you at the center of a wide variety of festivals and fairs. Right nearby in Eleanor you can attend the West Virginia Jeepfest. Whether you own a Jeep or merely with you did, this family friendly event has something for everyone to enjoy. Live music, a fun kids’ zone, and a “historical barn” round out the activities and allow you to enjoy all things “jeep”.
Take a short drive to Charleston for even more great summer festivals. The much celebrated Multifest celebrates its 30th year of diversity in 2019, featuring art, great food, and an all-star lineup you won’t want to miss. For foodies and seafood aficionados, get your tickets for the Southeast Crab Fest and enjoy all you can eat fresh Blue crabs in a setting that will entertain the entire family. And you will want to plan to attend Charleston’s beloved Summerfest for outstanding music and activities.
In addition to nearby Charleston, you can take advantage of some really great small towns right nearby. Check out Waves of Fun just a short drive away in Hurricane. This gorgeous wave pool and park includes an all-inclusive playground and challenge course and hosts great parties including the Mermaid Splash and Bash, complete with mermaid performances. Stop in at the Bridge Café and Bistro for great food and even better service to make your trip to Hurricane complete – you might even make it a habit.

One of our favorite summer traditions is baseball! Take the whole family out to the West Virginia Power Park and watch the West Virginia Power team as you enjoy a hot dog. You can even reserve the Bud Light Party Deck for your large group and enjoy the game with friends or coworkers for an all inclusive baseball party experience.
If you are looking for activities that unleash your creativity, plan to take a trip to the Clay Center. Take the family for a free Origami workshop, or enjoy Art After Dark and follow the Charleston Art Walk.
