First Watch in Charleston, WV serves a delicious breakfast and lunch. It’s located in the heart of Charleston on Summers Street. The history of the restaurant is interesting. In 1983, there was no breakfast restaurant really focused on breakfast. The original First Watch opened from 7am – 2:30pm with the idea that people want a Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch restaurant that doesn’t try to do it all with dinner later in the day. The rest is history as word of mouth was this restaurant was fresh and new and the daytime cafe became extremely popular.
At First Watch everything is make daily starting with slicing fresh fruits and vegetables, baking muffins and whipping up a French toast batter from scratch. Everything is made to order, and freshness is central. They don’t even use heat lamps or deep fryers , this keeps the tastes of the menu fresh.
One cool thing is once you sit down , they bring you a pot (not a cup) of coffee with complimentary newspapers and WiFi Internet access.
